Mozzarella tour puglia

Why I can’t stop recommending Puglia.

Are you still looking for a great place where to spend your summer holidays or are you already thinking ahead about your next break? Well, you can enjoy Puglia all year round! This stretch of land between the Adriatic and the Ionian sea has an amazing history, lovely food and offers so many activities for families, couples and a group of friends; for those who love sports and those who want pure relaxation!

Here is a list of my favorite things to do!

Enjoy a cooking class or go to see how the mozzarella cheese is made!

Enjoy Polignano a Mare from the sea, going snorkeling with a local marine biologist or fishing with professional fishermen!

See romantic Locorotondo, one of Puglia’s prettiest villages, making a vineyards tour with wine-tasting. Visit Ostuni, the white city and enjoy the oil mill tour with an olive oil master and a tasting class!

Reach picturesque Alberobello on two wheels, riding a bike or a legendary Vespa scooter!

Tour La Murgia countryside in a quad or with a 4×4 safari passing trough ‘Piana Degli Ulivi Secolari’, dotted with many typical farmhouses and along amazing hill-slopes with beautiful panoramic views!

Go horse-riding among the olive groves or hike in the Guaceto Natural Park and in the mystic Hermit Valley with extraordinarily beautiful views. If you are lucky you will spot falcons and swallows or cross one of the 90 species of orchids that grow here.

Everywhere in Puglia, you can take a boat tour to discover the beautiful sea-caves and the amazing coastline! I would recommend starting from Otranto or Polignano a Mare!

For those who really need an adventure twist, kite surfing on the golden beach of the Coastal Dunes natural park is a must!

You can also rent your own ‘Trullo’ turned into a unique holiday apartment at Masseria Le Specchie. One of the most common theories for the origin of the ‘Trullo’ involves the tax on permanent buildings, imposed in the 17th century. Since then, the peasant families started building their dwellings ‘dry’ so that they could promptly demolish them. Because the conical roof depends largely on the ‘topmost’ stone to prevent the roof from caving in, the peasants were able to literally demolish their houses simply by pulling this stone out!
